Spot A Word is not only fun but it is an educational puzzle game that allows you to practice and learn words in English and four other languages. It has 3 game modes: Word Master, Polyglot, and Teacher. In the Word Master game, you can form words in English by selecting letters on a cobweb that are linked with each other. You don't play against time, but as you form words, new letters of different colors will appear (blue, green, and red). If you form words with red letters, they will turn into green; if you form words with green letters, they will turn into blue; if you use the hint option, some letters will become red. The game is lost when all letters go red, and you win when the lady bug reaches the top.
With the Polyglot game you can practice words in English, French, Deutsch, Italian, and Spanish. The program will be showing words in any of the five languages randomly and you will have to form the words in the list by selecting them on the net; you have to collect them one by one. In the lower left you will see the translation of the word in the five languages. The Teacher mode is similar to the Polyglot game but here you can select the Foreign and the Native language you wish to practice. |
